Wensleydale
Wensleydale is a valley in the Yorkshire Dales, England. The valley runs from west to east, between the Vale of York to the south and the Pennine Hills to the north. It is home to the town of Hawes, as well as the villages of Askrigg, Bainbridge, Bellerby, Carperby, Hardraw, Hawes, Hofnar, Melbecks, Hawes, Parwich, Thornton Rust and Wensley.
The valley is home to the Wensleydale Cheese Company, which produces the famous Wensleydale cheese. The valley is also popular with tourists, who come to enjoy the stunning scenery, the array of outdoor activities on offer, wildlife spotting and the many historic attractions including Jervalux Abbey which is a 12th-century Cistercian Monastery.
